South Brazil is the supposed origin of the famous churrasco (Brazil style barbecue). This type of barbecue is known to feature cutes like picanha and alcatra, as well as European classics like Italian and German sausages. The latter is due to a heavy immigration of European, particularly from Germany. This has resulted in the presence of pasta, sausage, and dessert dishes common to these cuisines.
