This Central Steppe located oblast is dotted with oak forests, meadows, and rivers. Historically, the region has been inhabited with Turkic and Finno-Ugric tribes, but it now has a significant ethnically Russian population. Unfortunately, finding documentation of this distinct region is very difficult.
